first let me start by saying that buckminster fuller should be
appreciated for all of the work that he did (not just the geodesic
dome). in your article you called him a failure at construction, which
he very well might have been, and then proceeded to degrade him on the
basis that the dymaxion house was never fully put into production. i
would argue that this was definetly a down point in his career but i
don't think that in anyway it made the project any less of a marvel. i
think that the idea behind the house was more than people of the time
could handle. lastly, i would like to express my strong disagreement
with the statement that the dymaxion car "didn't work".
designed in the 30's it could carry 9 people, do 90 mph and get 30 mpg.
i would say that that is an extreme success. there are still dozens of
cars on the market that don't have numbers that good.
