"While state-owned corporations do own majority shares in the three
national television channels, there are now also more privately owned
newspapers, journals and local television and radio stations than
ever before in Russian history - three times as many, in fact, as
under president Boris Yeltsin. And while many studies criticize
state-sponsored television for fawning over Putin, they also
typically find that other outlets present a wide variety of critical
views.
...
For the most part, such facts are either ignored, or attributed to a
lack of information on the part of Russian citizens. But since Russia
ranks third globally in total newspaper circulation, among the top
five in books published and top 10 for total numbers of Internet
users (ahead of Italy, Canada, India and Brazil), any argument that
suggests they lack information is clearly ludicrous. This leaves
Western decision-makers with a rather uncomfortable choice of
options: either write off Russia as a hopeless case, or insist that
they just do not understand what democracy is all about, and hence
will have to learn about it from us. The first means a new Cold War
for geopolitical reasons; the second, a new Cold War for ideological
reasons."

Es gibt außerdem in Russland über 65000 vom US-Regime finanzierte
USGOs:
"(3)(A) Since 1992, United States Government democratic reform
programs and public diplomacy programs, including training,
and small grants have provided access to and training in
the use of the Internet, brought nearly 40,000 Russian
citizens to the United States , and have led to the
establishment of more than 65,000 nongovernmental
organizations, thousands of independent local media outlets,
despite governmental opposition, and numerous political
parties."

"As stated in the Russian Democracy Act, “United States Government
democratic reform programs… have led to the establishment of more
than 65,000 non-governmental organizations… and numerous political
parties” (Sec.2(a)(3)(A)). In other words, the U.S. law-makers openly
admit that the U.S. Government and American money are behind every
fifth out of 300,000 registered NGOs in Russia. The figures are even
more impressive than those in Belarus. For every 2,100 citizens of
Russia, we’ve got one “public” association “established” and at least
partly, if not fully, funded by Washington."

"“NED’s first president, Allen Weinstein, admitted openly that ‘a lot
of what we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA. … NED
was conceived as a quasi-governmental foundation that funneled U.S.
government funding through Ingos like the National Democratic
Institute for International Affairs (NDI), the International
Republican Institute (IRI), International Foundation for Electoral
Systems (IFES), International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX),
and Freedom House."
